The obvious answer to the geography problem is to start at the North Pole. But keep reading.
The map shows the earth as viewed from directly over the North Pole. Starting at the North Pole (red dot), one travels 100 kilometers south. Then, when traveling 100 kilometers east, you would always maintain the same distance from the North Pole. Thus, when you turn to travel 100 kilometers north, you end up back at the North Pole.
This is the simplest answer to the problem. But can you think of another location on the earth where the navigation requirements are also true?
